Haritachala is a organic, sustainable and off-the-grid farm in Tamil Nadu and it belongs to the non-profit spiritual organization called Saipatham. Saipatham has various satsang centers all across the world. The farm is run by volunteers and with an intention of providing organic food to its satsang members and their families it grows and regularly ships its produce to the various satsang centers nearby. Instead of paying for the produce with money, the members volunteer their time and work in the farm and make sure to keep the farm running by buying the various resources like seeds, farming equipment, paying the salaries for the staff on the farm, etc. This innovative idea is entirely based mutual trust, clean eating, and the principles of sustainability, growing locally, and social & environmental responsibility. Haritachala Organics is a free app that helps members conveniently keep track of the produce that they have taken and the monetary value they wish to attach to that produce.
